We each have a male or female physical body we inhabit. We embody this form every day of our lives. Most people will naturally identify more strongly with one gender than the other. Most times what we identify ourselves as is a match for our body's gender and physical make-up, and sometimes it is not. Inside us all are elements of both masculine and feminine energy. However, we are not always aware of the features of these energies and our relationship with them.
Close your eyes and tune into the energy of the gender you feel most attuned to. Take note of how that energy makes you feel inside your physical body, mind, and heart. Now let yourself play the role of the opposing gender.
What distinguishes this energy from the other?

Draw a line down the centre of a sheet of paper, write Feminine on one side, and Masculine on the other, and list the characteristics of both that you felt and experienced.
Allow yourself to let in both energies into your body simultaneously. How does this make you feel in your body, mind, and heart? What do you notice this time?
Through greater conscious awareness of your body, you can practice embracing these energies more frequently. When the energy of your inner masculinity might benefit what you are doing, call on it.
When your inner feminine energy backs up what you are feeling, call on it. Call in both energies in the morning and evening to create a sense of balance and to feel whole.
