NAVIGATING SPIRITUALITY WHEN YOU'RE STRUGGLING

If you have stumbled across this post while going through something heavy in your life, whether it's grief, loss, anxiety, depression, confusion, or one of those intense spiritual awakenings that shake your whole world, I see you. I really do.
I have spent many years being a psychic medium and Reiki energy healer, and if there is one thing I know for sure, it is that people often find themselves drawn to spirituality during their most vulnerable moments. And it makes sense, doesn’t it? When the ground beneath you feels unsteady and your world is seemingly falling apart, and when conventional answers don’t seem to help at all, turning to something bigger, something unseen and not mainstream, feels like the only real option.
And let’s be honest, the internet can feel like a lifeline in times like these. Online spiritual communities and groups are filled with people who are willing to listen when no one else seems to understand.
But here is the thing: your vulnerability is sacred. And not everyone online knows what they are talking about.
The Rise of Online Spiritual Communities: A Blessing and a Caution
Over the past few years, I have watched how spirituality has exploded online. TikTok psychics, Instagram energy healers, and AI-generated astrology readings have all made spirituality more accessible than ever. That’s not necessarily a bad thing at all. It means people who may not have explored their spiritual side before now have an entry point. It means support is available at the click of a button. And that is fantastic.
But there is also a flip side. With so much information (and misinformation) floating around, it can be hard to separate genuine wisdom from well-intentioned but misguided advice. Or worse, from people looking to take advantage of others in more ways than just financial.
I say this not to discourage or dishearten you, but to remind you to constantly be discerning. Just because someone sounds confident or throws around spiritual buzzwords doesn’t mean they hold the truth you need.
Trust yourself first.
Your Intuition is Your Best Guide
If you take nothing else from this, please take this: Your intuition matters. Your lived experience is valid. You are not crazy for feeling what you feel.
When seeking guidance, whether from a psychic, a medium, an energy healer, an alternative holistic healer, or even a stranger in an online spiritual group, check in with yourself. Does their message resonate? Does it make you feel empowered rather than dependent? If something feels off, you have every right to walk away.
The best spiritual teachers - whether they are human or spirit - won’t tell you what to do. They will help you find your own way in your own time.
The Impact of AI and Technology on Spirituality
Speaking of finding your way, let’s talk about how technology is shaping spirituality in 2025. AI-generated tarot readings and algorithm-driven astrological forecasts are everywhere now. Virtual reality meditation retreats exist. Heck, I have seen some people even using ChatGPT to channel messages from spirit guides!
While technology can be a fun and helpful tool, it should never replace your own inner wisdom. A computer program can analyse patterns, but it can’t tap into the unique energy of you. Use digital resources as a guide, but always filter them through your own intuition.
Finding Safe and Supportive Spaces
If you are here because you are looking for help, please know you are not alone. There are beautiful, heart-centred communities out there, places where people genuinely want to help and support each other. If you are part of one of those spaces, cherish it. If you haven’t found one yet, do keep looking.
But always move with care. Not all people are helpers and healers, not all spiritual spaces are safe, and not all advice is wise. Protect your energy. If someone tells you they have all the answers, run. No one does. Not me, not anyone. Spirituality is a journey, and the best guidance will always point you back to your own strength, not try to replace it.
You Are Your Own Best Authority
At the end of the day, this is your path. It is your soul, your experience, your truth. Seeking guidance is natural, sometimes necessary, but don’t let anyone, psychic, healer, or anyone with any type of new age title, become your final authority.
The answers you seek? They have been inside you all along.
So use these online spaces. Lean on them. Learn from them. But hold onto your own power while you do.
If this post resonates with you, share it with someone who might need to hear it. We are all in this together.
Take care of yourself.
