LET'S START 2025 WITH ACTS OF LOVE AND INCLUSION

As we begin the month of January 2025, it’s the perfect time to reflect on how we can bring more love into the world. The challenges we face - pain, uncertainty, and division - often stem from an absence of love. Love is missing when we hold onto beliefs or habits that encourage separation or exclusion.
But love is something every human being deeply craves. It’s a universal need that transcends the physical.
The Power of Love in Healing the World
The solution to much of the world’s suffering is simple in concept but difficult to achieve due to how societies are shaped and how exclusionary beliefs are normalized. The idea that one person deserves more than another, or that one group is inherently superior, is a flawed and harmful mindset. Every living being, from the smallest ant to the bird perched on a balcony, has an equal right to exist. The universe is vast enough for all of us to share space in harmony.
To move forward, we could focus on practising love and kindness more intentionally and visibly.
Imagine if, before speaking, acting, or making decisions, we paused to ask:
What would love do?
What would love feel like?
What would love look like?
What would love sound like?
How can I create love right now?
A World Inspired by Love
Picture a world where leaders, teachers, parents, partners and friends regularly practised this approach. What kind of transformation could we achieve if love guided our actions more often?
In the natural world, we see a beautiful balance - plants, animals, and ecosystems coexist in harmony, each contributing to the whole. This diversity sustains life. Watching the Planet Earth documentaries series with David Attenborough recently reminded me of the wisdom and connection we can learn from nature. We are not separate from it. We are part of this vast web of life.
However, when we choose exclusion over inclusion, we disrupt this balance. The results are devastating: poverty, violence, homelessness, racism, war, environmental damage, and so much suffering. By supporting or tolerating beliefs and systems that allow these issues to persist, we share responsibility for the world we live in.
Taking Responsibility and Choosing Inclusion
I admit, I’ve also been complicit in this. I’ve waited for others to solve problems, telling myself it wasn’t my responsibility. But this year, I would like to change that. I want 2025 to be a year of inclusion and love.
Spirituality, for me, is about being in constant dialogue with the essence of the universe - a universe that embodies love, harmony, and connection. It’s about recognizing that life isn’t an individual experience but a shared one.
Every day, I remind myself to ask:
What would love do?
What would love feel like?
What would love look like?
What would love sound like?
How can I create love right now?
Your Invitation to Start 2025 with Love
As we embark on this new year, I invite you to join me in asking these questions. Let’s make 2025 a year where love and inclusion guide our words, actions, and decisions. Together, we can create a world that reflects the harmony and balance we see in nature - a world where everyone feels valued and included.
Let’s start today. What would love do?
